 Restylane is an ideal nonsurgical treatment for both men and women 18 years and older who want to address severe wrinkles, frown lines, nasolabial folds, lips or add contour and lift to their cheeks.  Since Restylane has several formulas, every client at Artisan Skin and Laser Center will have a complimentary consultation to determine which filler is the best choice for them based on their needs, goals, and medical history before a unique treatment plan is formed. Certain formulas have local anesthetic, so you should disclose any known allergies during your consultation to avoid a reaction.

Once our clients have had a consultation to develop their personalized treatment plan, the injection may be scheduled for another day or performed the same day, depending on availability. We can also apply a numbing cream to make the treatment less uncomfortable if desired(we just ask that you come 20 minutes prior to your appointment time). In a treatment room, the face will be cleansed before the injections. After the Restylane has been injected, there may be some swelling, bruising and redness, but this typically subsides in a few days.

For most clients, the effects of Restylane injections are visible immediately and typically last for around 12 months. The injection sites will appear slightly red and swollen, but this typically subsides within a   24 - 48 hours. Bruising can occur in some areas, but this can usually be concealed with makeup. It is recommended that you avoid strenuous activity for a day and you should sleep upright for at least one night.  It is unusual to experience severe or lasting side effects from Restylane, but if there are any concerns or a reaction, please call Artisan Skin and Laser Center for assistance.  We usually schedule a follow up appointment 12-14 days after your visit for pictures and to address any questions or concerns. We recommend talking to an Artisan about when to book a touch-up or full injection session to sustain long lasting results.
