What is microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive skin-refreshing treatment that can be performed on the face, neck, décolleté, and hands to gently slough off the top layer of dead skin cells. This technique reveals more vibrant skin underneath and helps repair facial skin that has been weathered by the effects of the sun, aging and daily lifestyle. This treatment also stimulates collagen growth, which is the building block of our skin essential for elasticity and firmness.
What should I expect during and after the microdermabrasion treatment?
After cleansing your skin with a gentle cleanser, a diamond tipped crystal-free microdermabrasion wand, or a DiamondTome® wand, will be chosen for you based on your skin type and skin condition. The wand will gently be applied to your skin for effective exfoliation. We are able to adjust the vacuum pressure to personalize your treatment and target your areas of concern. This treatment requires virtually no down time, and you will notice a healthy glow just a few days after your microdermabrasion treatment. For best results, a series of treatments are recommended.
What is the Hydro Wand®?
The patented Hydro Wand® is a multifaceted tool used in conjunction with the microdermabrasion system to aid in deeper penetration of skincare serums. After the DiamondTome® wand resurfaces your skin, the Hydro Wand® promotes hydration and nourishment. With 3 different wand surfaces to choose from, we will work with you to decide which one is the best for an even more personalized skincare plan. The type of serum applied is also a touch point we discuss with every client, as multi-vitamin, acne, skin-lightening, or deep moisturizing serums may be used depending on your personal skincare goals. For instance, if you are wanting to diminish the appearance of hyperpigmentation, we will likely suggest a Hydro Wand® with a lightening serum.
What should I expect during the Hydro Wand® application?
After your microdermabrasion treatment, we will gently apply the Hydro Wand® to the treated area with gentle, controlled precision. The application of this wand is painless, as your skin is being gently exfoliated and hydrated with a smooth tip.
What should I expect after the full treatment?
Post treatment, you may experience some tightness and minor redness from the DiamondTome® wand that will diminish within a few hours. We recommend the application of a soothing moisturizer and sunscreen for post care, as your skin will be sensitive to the sun. It is best to avoid sun exposure for at least 7 days to prevent UV rays from damaging your skin and slowing down recovery. It is also recommended to avoid retinols 72 hours before and after your treatments.

The addition of the Hydro Wand® will greatly enhance your treatment, as it also promotes collagen growth to improve the overall appearance and texture of your skin. You will be able to see results after just one visit, although we still recommend multiple treatments for maximum results.
