PROCEDURE TECHNIQUE
Collagen Induction Therapy is completed in a private treatment room in about 45 – 60 minutes. At your procedure a member of the ARTisan team will topically apply a numbing cream 45 minutes prior to the service. Your blood will be drawn, typically from your arm, and spun down in a centrifuge to obtain the Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), which will be used as the serum for this procedure. This minimally invasive procedure uses a 0.5 mm – 1.5 mm needle in length and a 32-gauge width on a handheld device(with a circular motion on the skin) to comfortably glide over the skin.
Patients generally report mild or no discomfort. The skin being treated will be cleansed before the multi-needled tool is passed over the skin. After the microneedling is complete, a topical treatment like PRP or a vitamin-infused serum can be applied to the treated area for deeper penetration of the nutrients into the skin. UV protection since your skin will be sensitive after the treatment.
WHAT TO EXPECT
You may experience mild swelling and redness for about a day and will fade naturally.
