JOB SUMMARY
Join our growing team in providing personal and innovative care in a patient-centered medical-surgical environment. ART Vision in Sioux Falls seeks a Full-Time Certified Ophthalmic Technician, Certified Ophthalmic Assistant, or Certified Ophthalmic Technologist that is responsible to assist in the ophthalmology clinic and assist with pre- and post-operative patient care.
The ideal candidate is someone who has a positive, professional attitude, great attention to detail, and a strong passion for learning. In this position, you will work directly with Dr. Alison R. Tendler and the entire ART Vision staff to provide care for patients who are impacted by eye-related medical conditions.
Duties performed include, but are not limited to:
- Collect medical histories, record visual activity and ocular functions, and other information related to patient visits.
- Assess patients before and after eye surgeries.
- Assist the surgical team in caring for patients before and after surgery.
- Provide education to patients on treatment for their specific eye conditions as well as pre/post surgical care.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Completion of the Certified Ophthalmic Technician, Certified Ophthalmic Assistant, or Certified Ophthalmic Technologist exam is not required, however the employee will be required to complete the Certified Ophthalmology Assistant (COA) exam upon completion of prerequisite requirements.
- BLS certified.
- One year clinical experience is desirable, but not required.
- Previous eye care experience is preferable, but not required.
