The Secret to Long Term Youthfulness...Sculptra®

Sculptra® is an FDA-approved injectable that helps stimulate collagen, which is a protein in our body responsible for providing structure to our cells and tissue. As we age, we stop producing collagen and start using the stored collagen in our tissues. When this happens, you may notice a lack of volume in your face, more laxity to your skin, and fine lines and wrinkles starting to form. Sculptra stimulates your body’s natural production of collagen, building back that framework needed for a youthful appearance. This replacement of collagen is seen over time, and results are gradual and natural, but the treatment can last up to two years. Sculptra can also help with improving fine lines and wrinkles as it is restoring the deep structures in our face to add youthful fullness. 

Sculptra is a great treatment to start in your late 20s or early 30s as a preventative treatment. However, it is also an excellent treatment to start later in life and can be a great choice for nearly every patient. Typically, the recommended amount of Sculptra is based on decades of life. For example, if you are in your 50’s, a good rule of thumb is to expect to use 5 vials of Sculptra. This is generally spread out over a few visits as we use approximately 2 vials of Scultra at each appointment. After the initial treatment phase is complete, we move on to maintenance treatments, which typically includes 1-2 vials of Sculptra each year. Sculptra is loved by many due to how natural it is, using your own body to replace what collagen it has lost and to add volume where needed. 

There is little downtime with Sculptra making it a good option any time of the year! As with any injectable treatment, you can expect some mild swelling and bruising. No specific aftercare is needed for Sculptra, but your provider will instruct you on how to massage the treated area for a few days after each treatment.
